Frequently Asked Questions

This page hosts questions that come up often along with comprehensive answers as well as general help. Before emailing in, please look through this list first.

How do I place an order and what does that entail?

Simply click "Get a Translation Now" and fill out the order form. It will guide you through all of the steps necessary to place an order. Be sure to click the [more info] links on that page to toggle additional tips.

I just placed an order. How long until I receive it?

We try out best to complete all Standard Orders within 2-3 weeks of receipt of payment. If you have ordered items that require physical shipping, it may take a few more days for them to arrive. When we have high order volume (which happens occasionally during times like before and after major religious holidays and the first few weeks of summer), Standard Orders may take longer to complete (up to 4-6 weeks or so).

If you have purchased a Rush Order (either 24 hour or same week) you will receive your translation within the specified amount of time or sooner.

I've ordered a tattoo stencil. How does this thing work?

We have an entire page dedicated to how our online stencils work. It can be found at Digital Tattoo Stencils. Some of the more complex tattoo stencils we offer are delivered in PDF document format (such as our Spiral Lord's Prayer stencils) through our Orders System.

Is there a way that I can see what the translated words look like before I buy them?

As a point of policy, we do not allow customers to view translations before they are purchased, as it would open up the possibility that our translators would not be compensated for their work. Translation is a service, and all translation orders pay for the effort that goes into the time and energy spent rendering your words in proper Aramaic form. As a service, however, we do guarantee that once a purchase has been made we will continue to work with you until you are satisfied with your translation. We apologize for any inconvenience.

How will I receive my translation? How are things shipped?

We deliver most translations via our online Orders System. Through our website you will have access to a work area to watch as your translation is put together, printable and downloadable images of the finished work and an itemized invoice that keeps track of what you have ordered and what payments you have made. This not only allows you instant access to your translation once it is complete, but it saves shipping costs, burning fossil fuels, and eliminates the hassle of replacing a physical copy. When your order is ready, you will receive instructions via email concerning how to retrieve it.

For physical items, we ship via United States Postal Service Priority Mail.

For individuals living outside of the United States, we may have to make special arrangements.

I've just made a payment online and I hasn't been reflected on my account yet. What's up?

All payments are reviewed by a human being before they are posted to your account. This is to prevent errors and make sure details aren't left out. So long as you receive a receipt from PayPal, we have your payment on file.

Do you guys translate into the original Aramaic of Jesus?

It is important to keep in mind that no "original" manuscripts of the New Testament exist today. The best we have are copies of copies that have been preserved in Greek. Although there are Aramaic traditions of the New Testament (such as the Old Syriac and the Peshitta) they date to between 200 and 400 AD and are in a very different dialect than Jesus would have spoken. On top of everything else, since very few documents have survived from Jesus' time, trying to get his exact dialect is always an effort in reconstruction. However we do offer translations the reconstructed dialect of Jesus. When you place an order, be sure to select Herodian script and in the additional information box make a note that this is the language you are after.

NOTE: If we are not online or do not respond, please send email to AramaicDesigns@gmail.com instead for a prompt reply.
